Overview

Dnyansangam Foundation believes that education and social work thrive best when individuals are physically and mentally healthy. In today’s fast-paced world, stress, burnout, and mental exhaustion have become common, especially among students, educators, and social workers who dedicate their time to uplifting others. Recognizing the importance of mental and physical well-being, the foundation launched the Shikharsetu initiative.

This initiative focuses on providing a refreshing escape from routine pressures by organizing monthly trekking expeditions, outdoor activities, meditation sessions, and wellness programs. These treks serve as a way for students, mentors, and volunteers to reconnect with nature, build resilience, and experience the therapeutic benefits of physical movement.

Objectives

Key Activities

1. Monthly Trekking Expeditions

Organizing affordable and well-planned treks to scenic natural locations. Ensuring a mix of easy, moderate, and challenging trekking routes to accommodate all fitness levels. Incorporating guided nature walks and environmental awareness sessions to foster a love for nature.

2. Mental Wellness & Meditation Sessions

Conducting mindfulness meditation at trek locations to help participants develop focus and inner peace. Organizing reflection and gratitude sessions, allowing individuals to unwind and connect with themselves. Teaching stress-management techniques that can be applied in daily life.

3. Team-Building & Leadership Activities

Encouraging team coordination and problem-solving during treks. Providing opportunities for mentors and students to bond outside of classroom settings. Developing leadership and decision-making skills through guided challenges on the trek.

4. Outdoor Fitness & Adventure Sports

Introducing activities such as rock climbing, rappelling, and hiking for fitness and adventure. Educating participants on the benefits of physical movement and its impact on mental health. Encouraging participants to set personal fitness goals and track progress over time.

5. Environmental Awareness & Conservation Efforts

Teaching students about the importance of preserving natural ecosystems. Encouraging waste-free trekking, ensuring all trails remain clean and undisturbed. Conducting tree plantation drives and nature restoration projects as part of select treks.
